A little information about Padel
What is Padel?
Looking for an activity to try out with friends or family? You’ll love Padel! This fun racket sport accessible to all is generally played in doubles, two against two, making it a convivial sport par excellence. It can also be played in singles, for two-up games. It combines elements of tennis and squash and is played with a special racket to hit a ball, slightly different in diameter from a tennis ball, on a court surrounded by transparent glass and grills.
The Padel racket is similar to a tennis racket, but is smaller and has no strings. It is generally perforated to improve control and maneuverability. The shape of the racket is specific and can vary slightly, with a shorter handle than a traditional tennis racket.
Games takes place on a court measuring 10 meters wide by 20 meters long. The Padel court is divided in two by a net. It has four service courts and two back courts. When serving, you hit the ball diagonally into the opposite service square. Then, as in tennis, the exchanges follow one another. But here’s a subtle twist: in Padel, the glass surrounding the court is an integral part of the game, offering spectacular rebound possibilities. You can use the glass to bounce the ball, adding an extra strategic dimension to the game.
Padel is a very popular sport, particularly in Spain and Latin America. Appreciated for being social, fun and easy to learn, it is currently gaining in popularity in many countries around the world.
You don’t have to be an athlete to have fun! Terrific fun, Padel is suitable for beginners and experienced players alike!
